Dear Students and Parents,
We wanted to make you aware of a message from our Superintendent, Dr. Shanoff.
Dr. Shanoff shared that “Physical intimidation, threats, or acts of violence of any kind will not be tolerated in our schools or in our community, whether on or off campus. Such behavior is fundamentally inconsistent with the values of our school district and the standards of conduct we expect from every student. We take these matters seriously, and there must be accountability when those expectations are violated.”
Sheriff Chris Blackmon also wants to send a clear message to all students attending public or private schools within Osceola County: “If you put your hands on another student on or off campus, deputies will arrest you.”
As a school, we have seen an uptick in name calling and students putting their hands on others. Please make sure your child is aware they will be held accountable if they participate in these types of activities.
Together, we can ensure every student is prepared, engaged, and successful. Thank you for your continued support in making Horizon a place where all students can thrive.
Have a wonderful week!
Go Eagles!
